This Privacy Policy (“Policy”) sets out how the Ember Fund (or “we”) collects, uses and discloses Personal Information obtained through our website and in the course of our online activities.

Personal Information will be retained only as long as necessary for the identified purposes, subject to the Ember Fund’s retention policy and applicable legislative requirements. 

Personal Information will be maintained in as accurate, complete and up-to-date form as is necessary to fulfill the purposes for which it is to be used. Individuals are responsible for notifying Ember Fund of any changes to their Personal Information that has been collected.

We seek to use reasonable organizational, technical and administrative measures to protect the Personal Information against loss, theft, unauthorized access, copying, disclosure, or modification. Personal Information is transmitted and stored on cloud-based servers. However, no data transmission or storage system can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. There is no guarantee that information may not be accessed, disclosed, altered, or destroyed by breach of any of our physical, technical, or managerial safeguards. Please note that e-mails and other communications you send to us through our website are not encrypted. We strongly advise you not to communicate any confidential information through these means.

Transfer of Personal Information Outside Canada

Unless otherwise permitted or required by privacy laws, when Personal Information is transferred outside Canada, affected individuals will be notified in advance of such transfer, including the countries in which the collection, use, disclosure and/or storage is occurring or may occur, the purpose for which transfer outside Canada has ben authorized and the way a third-party service provider’s privacy policies and practices can be accessed, if applicable. When Personal Information is transferred outside of Canada, the Personal Information may be subject to disclosure or access requests by law enforcement or other authorities in such countries.

The Ember Fund transfers the Personal Information outside of Canada due to its use of cloud-based storage servers, which are located outside Canada, including the United States.
